Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if I am going to like it or not?

An initial consultation will take place prior to the procedure going ahead where the whole process will be discussed in great detail.
During the consultation traditional make up will be used to mark out exactly where your permanent make up is going to go so that you can see how your finished permanent make up will look.

The colours will also be chosen and any questions will be answered until you are completely happy for the procedure to take place.

What happens during a treatment?

After the shape and colour have been decided, a sterilized needle will be used to tattoo small amounts of pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin which will form the finished procedure.

Does it hurt?

A topical aesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment to alleviate any discomfort, this is usually very effective and minimises any pain caused.

Can I go about my usual daily routine straight after treatment?

Yes, you may experience some swelling or redness straight after treatment.  This will usually subside within 48hours but that should not affect your everyday activities.

What will the colour be like immediately after treatment?

The colour may be about 40% darker initially but this will quickly fade to the correct colour.  The area treated may also become dry and flaky for a few days after the treatment.

How long will the permanent make up last?

Some of the pigment will remain in the skin permanently but the colour/effect will gradually fade over time.  Permanent make up usually lasts 3 – 5 years but to keep it looking fresh, top up procedures will be required every 12-18 months.

Is there any chance I could have an allergic reaction?

Tattoo pigments have been used for thousands of years and reactions are very rare.  A patch test will be carried out prior to treatment to check to see if you are allergic to the pigment being used.
