Do you get Testimonials from all of your happy customers?

Testimonials from happy clients are very powerful because they give you enormous credibility in the eyes of new potential customers.

It is essential to ask all of your happy clients for Testimonials.

However, there are Testimonials and there are Great Testimonials.

What makes a Great Testimonial?

A Great Testimonial needs to:

• Highlight specific results received.
• Contain benefits to your client.
• Paint a picture about how your service
• has impacted your clients lives etc.

To give you an idea, here are 2 examples of Great Testimonials that were given to me recently:

TESTIMONIAL 1

” Updating my business website was the next step in growing my business.  I was not looking forward to having to do this as on previous occasions it caused nothing but frustration.

Whilst most testimonials just say things like:

‘Very Efficient’ and ‘Professional Service’ the Testimonials above really go into detail about how I have helped these particular clients on many different levels, including specifics and benefits.

So, how do you get your clients to write Great Testimonials?

Your ‘Happy Clients’ just need a little guidance, you need to give them ideas about what you would like them to put.

Here is the exact wording I used in an email to ask my client (above) for a Testimonial:

Hi (client name)

Can you do me a favour please (client name)

Can you give me a testimonial to say how
happy you are with your website and your
Google Marketing.

I have a client who I want to impress so would

As you can see in my email above I have given my client some ‘Real Meat’ that he can include in his Testimonial, I have made it easy for him, he has then just expanded on it.

Also, because I mentioned to him (in my email) that I wanted to impress a client he has made the Testimonial impressive.

You can do a similar thing if you ask for Testimonials via Email or phone.

If you ask your clients for testimonials in person it may be worth giving them a Testimonial Form that they can fill in, and on that form you could include the following: (or similar)

If you are happy with the service you have just received it would be very helpful for me if you could give me a testimonial. Testimonials play a big part in helping me to acquire new clients. So, your help would be mostly appreciated, here are some suggestions of what you could include:

What difference has my service has made to you?
How has it made you feel?
How will your treatment be of benefit to you?
Have you enjoyed your treatment?
Would you recommend me to your friends?
ETC.

If you offer some suggestions it can really help to get some Great Testimonials from your happy clients.

GOOGLE TIP

Apart from the fact you can use the Testimonials in your Marketing, Ads, Reception Wall etc to help you convert new clients, Testimonials can also be added to your website which in turn will help you build trust with your website visitors.

In addition, if you regularly add new testimonials to your website Google will reward you for it. Google loves websites that are continually being updated with fresh, new content and regularly updated websites will get pushed further up the free listings on Google.

Google knows if your website has not been updated in a while and this can go against your site.

I can’t think of a better way to update your website than by adding Testimonials from Happy Customers. Your customers are writing the content for you, you are helping your site on Google and all of your website visitors are going to see how you have helped your previous clients.
