Client Case Background
A lady client came in to the clinic with some long standing red veins or thread veins as they are sometimes called, on both cheeks which had been progressively getting worse. She is an outdoors type of person enjoying cycling and long walks with the dog. She wanted the amount of Red Veins reduced and if possible removed altogether.

This client was an ideal candidate for an Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment at 585nm. I performed a patch test followed by 3 IPL treatments at monthly intervals treating both cheeks. Photo’s were taken so the client could review the results with fading of veins after each IPL treatment.
Her skin condition was significantly improved and she was advised that sun protection (SPF) at a factor of SPF30 should be worn, even in winter and on cloudier days. The damage to the skin from UV rays is considerable, leading to prematurely ageing of the skin and her red veins ! Providing she follows the skin care advice given to her unsightly red veins should be a thing of the past.

I should have done it years ago! – Brilliant no longer embarrassed by people looking at my red cheeks. I use SPF 30 daily now to help prevent future red veins. I must give 9/10 for improvement.
