Hollywood films like Alice in Wonderland are influencing trends in cosmetic colours, according to a professional make-up artist.
Tinsel Town is renowned as a fashion compass and Tim Burton’s remake of the Lewis Carol classic is proving an inspiration, but it is not actors Anne Hathaway and Johnny Depp that are the trend-setters.
Kato Debain-Ellinger told Canwest News Service that it is the beauty around them in the movie that is making waves in the fashion world. “Look at the nice garden, natural flora, the flowers and the teapot,” she suggested.
Bright colours like fuchsia, pink, peach, sea blue, purple and grey, as well as warm browns and golds, can all be seen in the film and are influencing this summer’s looks, according to the professional make-up artist.
Another trend to be seen recently is the bronzed look, which appears to be back for the summer after celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker opted for the look at the Met Gala.
