Professional make-up artist Melanie Mills and her team use styles to enhance the drama of Dancing with the Stars.
Pamela Anderson and Nicole Scherzinger are among the celebrities performing in the latest series of the hit ballroom dancing reality show, so the team have some great faces to work with. Emmy awarding-winning professional make-up artist Mills told Monsters and Critics that she bases the dancers’ looks on the sketches from the costumer.
She recreates make-up styles from bygone eras to complement the music and wardrobe, to create an authentic look that helps the contestant get into character for the dance. “Ballroom makeup is a necessity to stand out on the dance floor during competition.
It’s used to enhance the drama of the performance and make a statement to the judges,” she told the news provider. Meanwhile, celebrity stylist Scott Barnes has revealed that the secret to J Lo’s famous glow is a monochromatic palette.
